      Hi,

When a customer cashes an on-us check, we haven’t figured out how to get the system to show the customer’s name that is processing the transaction, even if we pull up the customer’s CIF. Right now, it is recording the account holder who wrote the check instead (gets printed on the back of the check). Our BSA department needs to have a way to track who is cashing the items.

At the WRUG meeting, someone mentioned that it may be a variable issue on the back end. Any assistance would be greately appreciated.

      Thank you!

Hi Alison – I’m wondering if we could setup a call so that we can do some screen shares to see if I can help you resolve this issue. Please let me know if that would be okay.

My email is jhamlin@bannerbank.com and you can reach out to me any time!

Hi. I’m the Bank Systems Analyst at Native American Bank.

Just recently, I made a change to add a “digital” link to the customer who cashes a check for our BSA officer (mostly for subpoena work).

We use Vertex/SLTeller Capture on SilverLake. I added ahook function to the check line items on the Cash Check transaction type to display an instrument field for the teller to enter the customer’s account number.

*CnTxt = COMMT, *Hook = PTDETINS, Alpha Variable = “Prompt such as Customer Acct#”

When a check is cashed, a window pops up where the teller enters the account number for the customer which is to the transaction on the Teller Journal.

To retrieve the information, we are currently using Synergy Search for the account number on the Teller Journal report. It’s working nicely so far.

I’m considering writing a COGNOS report to pull down this information on a weekly basis (since Vertex only keep the last 7 days) but we are not sure yet if there’s truly a need to do so since the need for this information for us is very rare.

You can have JH add the hook for you or if you have a Systems Administrator who has access to Vertex parameters, that person can change the transaction type.

If you’d like to contact me, my email address is tduncan@nabna.com.
