We are hoping to learn a bit more about how some of the other banks handle certain ACH processes with Netteller and Silverlake. Please see below and respond directly to Val Bellmire (ValBellmire@AlpineBank.com) if you can assist.

      Thank you!!

Process 1- Currently, when we begin our process to gather all of the ACH batches to generate the outgoing ACH file to Fed, we take an option in the Home Banking menu called Allocate/Deallocate ACH Transaction File. This action prevents all ACH customers from initiating ACH batches on Netteller while we process in Silverlake and often times is causing inconvenience and frustration for our customers. Jack Henry has let us know that by not taking this option, we run the risk of pulling partial batches, which can cause many issues. We are hoping to learn what other banks do if they are not using this option of Allocate/Deallocate ACH Transaction File.

      1. Please elaborate on your full process from pre-origination to live origination. What are your steps and what reports do you review?
      2. Are you concerned about pulling partial batches? Do you have a report or process to verify that you have not pulled partial batches?
      3. What are you reviewing on the AC3225 during pre-origination and live origination? How long does it take you to compare pre-org reports to live org reports?
      4. How many times a day do you originate out to Fed?
      5. How many originators do you have? Are any of them TPS’s?

Process 2- Currently we use the menu option ACH Suspect Certification after pulling in each incoming ACH file as well as prior to processing each outgoing ACH file to review for potential OFAC matches.

      1. Do you mind sharing your ACH OFAC process? Do you use reports and if so, during what processes are you reviewing reports?

Process 3- Currently we are notifying our Originators of Returns and NOC’s via email or fax twice a day so they can have the information as soon as possible. We use information from the AC3060 and prepare a letter with all of the pertinent information. We are aware of the option to use eStatements for customers to receive Return and NOC notifications, but our understanding is that customers would receive these notifications a day later. This seems to be more of an issue for our TPS’s because they rely on the return notifications the same day the return happens so they know if they are okay to send a payroll batch. As you can imagine, this is a very manual process for us so we are looking for any suggestions.

      1. Do you mind sharing your Return and NOC notification process? If you use eStatements have your customers had any issues receiving those notifications a day later?

      Thanks again for your responses,
